Aldège 'Le Yankee' Lapointe “The Quebec Actor Who Played the Ultimate Foreign Tycoon”
Lapointe, a farmer's son from Saint-Rémi, played the cigar-chomping software baron plotting to smuggle Canadian job seekers' data across the border. He learned his booming American accent from a single radio commercial for chewing gum, and it shows. His ten-gallon hat was so large that it had its own stand-in for the long shots.
How He Was Discovered
Discovered at a county fair doing an impression of a travelling salesman so convincing that three people tried to buy his cart.
