Ghost Jobs From Beyond Hell!

1956 · Retro-Canadian Data Pictures · Approved by the Canadian Board of Data Security

A Trapped Resume in the Infinite Void!

A quiet Canadian tech office is driven mad when a floating specter starts plastering the bulletin boards with glowing job ads for roles like "Senior Warp Drive Refiner." Applicants slave over the forms for days, only to watch them melt into thin air. The jobs don't exist! The whole building is a phantom front harvesting identities for the underworld data brokers. Only Jennie's Job-o-Matic can blast the listings into oblivion.

Incidents & Hazards

Rudy the Bad Actor as Sir Phantom of the BacklogIncident ReportBedsheet conical-point error. Ended production upside down in a dumpster.

Rudy plays "Sir Phantom of the Backlog" in a twin-sized bedsheet. His refusal to flatten his pompadour stretches the sheet into a tall cone, so he looks less like a spirit and more like a badly wrapped mattress. He ends the film upside down in a prop dumpster.

During rehearsals he got sucked into a vortex of stale corporate listings within the first three minutes and had to be fished out with a boom mic.

Notes from the Set

Director's Note“Rudy's modern oxford dress shoes are clearly visible under the bedsheet in the boardroom scene. Budget constraints prevented a reshoot.”

Trivia

  • The corporate ghosts were played by local theatre students wrapped in transparent saran wrap who moaned their old student debt balances into the microphone.
  • Rudy's bedsheet costume was laundered with heavy industrial starch, causing it to stand completely rigid on its own and ruining three tracking shots.
  • Jennie’s thermal wave device was powered by a hidden prop stagehand firing a commercial leaf-blower packed with red confetti directly into Rudy’s face.
  • AIDA refused to use a prop coffee pot, pouring actual piping hot coffee during the boardroom sequence to keep the background actors genuinely awake.
  • Rudy’s footwear error (visible leather oxfords under the bedsheet) occurred because the wardrobe department misplaced his phantom slippers on day one.
