Jennie and the Job-o-Matic of Doom!

1953 · Beauharnois Grindhouse Productions · Approved by the Canadian Board of Data Security

Vaporizing Ghost Jobs and Data-Harvesting Fiends!

An underground data syndicate unleashes a scraping machine that clones dead job listings from 2018, burying the market under an avalanche of digital garbage. As the central systems fail, Chief Mechanic Jennie rolls up her sleeves, smears on the engine grease and fires up the Job-o-Matic. Swinging a four-foot crescent wrench, she runs deduplication passes so violent they smash the fake postings and harvesting bots into scrap metal.

Incidents & Hazards

Rudy the Bad Actor as The Spacesuit SaboteurIncident ReportHelmet fogging occlusion. Missed his exit cue; locked on set overnight.

Rudy plays "The Spacesuit Saboteur," sent to jam the server gears. Backing away from Jennie's wrench, he trips over a power cable. His helmet fogs up so badly he misses his exit cue and stays trapped behind a prop server rack until the lights go down.

He only realized the cameras had stopped rolling when the janitor switched the stage lights back on.

Notes from the Set

Director's Note“Rudy filed a formal complaint that the glass helmet flattened his pompadour. The crew labelled it 'Defective Unit #2' for the rest of the week.”
Production NoteRudy complained to Director Labelle that the space helmet cut off his air supply, but the crew discovered he was actually just upset that the glass dome flattened his pristine 1950s blonde pompadour.

Trivia

  • The 4-foot iron crescent wrench wielded by Jennie was an authentic casting model weighing 22 pounds. She swung it with such velocity that she accidentally shattered a main set column.
  • Rudy's space helmet fogging incident occurred because he tried to hide a pack of throat lozenges inside the collar, blocking the primitive ventilation slits.
  • The data-scraping matrix prop was composed of an old tractor engine block covered in flashing neon sign fragments that hummed so loudly it drowned out the vocal tracks.
  • AIDA’s character spent the entire second act throwing fake charcoal logs into a prop furnace that was actually just illuminated by an orange rotating disco ball light.
  • The final explosion of the duplicate job machine was achieved by a stagehand throwing firecrackers into a garbage can right behind Rudy’s positioning slot.
